Understand what the task assesses

EUFTE assesses written communication on an EU-related matter using documentation supplied during the test. The notice states that it is not designed to test language proficiency or factual knowledge. Your job is to extract, organise and communicate relevant information.

  • Answer the requested task and audience.
  • Select evidence from the supplied documents.
  • Use a visible structure and logical progression.
  • Reserve time to edit for clarity and completeness.

Plan before drafting

Turn the instruction into two or three deliverables, then assign evidence to each. A short plan prevents a polished introduction from consuming the time needed for the main analysis.

  • Minutes 0–8: read the task and map the sources.
  • Minutes 8–32: draft the core response.
  • Minutes 32–40: tighten, verify and correct.

Practise communication, not prediction

Do not try to guess the future test subject. Practise transferring information from unfamiliar source packs into concise, audience-appropriate writing. Compare each draft with a checklist for relevance, structure, evidence and readability.

  • EUFTE Workshop is part of Premium access.
  • Saved drafts and assessments remain private candidate data.
  • Always follow the exact task and documentation shown in the official test.
